"Turning your moments into poems"

About me

I’m Juan, your local Typewriter Poet. I write typewritten poems on the spot to help strangers feel seen, understood, and a little less alone. My table holds a pocket of time where your voice and story are allowed to take space in the form of a conversation, a moment of reflection, and finally, a poem for you to take home.

As a teenager living thousands of miles away from his homeland, I found solace and understanding through poetry. Now, standing in the third country I’ve called “Home”, I hope to bring the same respite to others as poetry granted me.

Juan's Featured Interview

After Hurricane Milton impacted the Tampa Bay community, Juan took his typewriter to the streets with a simple intention: to offer words of comfort through poetry. Sitting in public spaces, he wrote personalized poems for people passing by—creating small but meaningful moments of connection during a difficult time.

What began as a heartfelt gesture quickly captured the attention of the community and local media. In this interview with Tampa Bay News, Juan shares the story behind this experience and how poetry can bring reflection, hope, and human connection when people need it most.

This feature highlights the power of creativity and the role poetry can play in bringing people together, even in the aftermath of a storm.

Turning your moments into poems

I believe poetry is more than words—it’s a way to capture life’s most meaningful moments. Through personalized poems written with care and creativity, I create unique experiences that connect people, celebrate memories, and turn special occasions into something truly unforgettable.
